Shah Latif University Botanical Garden & Herbarium (SLUBGH) is
dedicated to pursue the highest quality of research on the plant
systematics (Taxonomy) and biology of plants.
It
undertakes International Agenda for Botanic Gardens in Conservation
(2000). This agenda provides a global framework for the development
of botanic garden policies and programmes for the effective
implementation of international treaties and national laws, policies
and strategies relevant to biodiversity conservation. Furthermore,
the International Agenda aims to motivate botanic gardens to
evaluate their conservation policies and practices to enhance their
effectiveness and efficiency in plant conservation.
A range of programs in biodiversity, conservation, science education
and recreation as per mission statement have been launched. In short
span of time (one year) SLUBGH has got remarkable recognition within
country and abroad.
